The school generates more than $424 million in research grants annually and more than 40% of the practicing physicians in North Carolina are graduates of the School of Medicine.

More than 3,000 physicians are affiliated with UNC Health Care through UNC Physicians Network, Rex Specialty Practices Regional Physicians and UNC Faculty Physicians.

UNC Health Care also provides home health and hospice services as well as mental health services at WakeBrook in Wake County.
